Ice Skating & Sledding

The Ice House at Jackson Gore Okemo's new covered ice skating facility! Rentals available.

West Hill Recreational Area (About 5 minutes from Okemo)Outdoor ice rink and a great hill for sledding. You must provide your own skates and sleds. There is an ice rink fee. Open mid-December - end of March (weather permitting). The rink may be closed for short periods of time for rink maintenance.

Hawk Mountain Resort Ice skating and sledding offered. There are sled rentals and skates rentals available. There is an ice rink fee. Call (802) 672-3811 for more information.

Vermont Adventure Tours (www.vermontadventuretours.com) is one of Vermont's oldest and largest guide services.  They offer winter adventures like ice climbing, winter camping and winter survival clinics for beginners and families, as well as seasoned adventurers.  Excursions can be based from the outfitter's headquarters in Rutland, or from any Okemo base area.

 

Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center (www.vermontclimbing.com) is located in Rutland, VT roughly 30 miles from Okemo.  GRMCC is an indoor rock climbing center with over 8,000 square feet of climbing space and 30 top rope stations.  The climbing center specializes in beginners and families, provides lessons and has rental equipment for children as small as 2 years old.  Indoor climbing is a great activity for evenings, rainy days or days off the snow, as well as an amazing full body workout.
